How to update your content engagement preference to automatic

By default, SocialWeaver is set to manual mode, meaning you’ll receive notifications asking you to approve or reject content before it’s shared or liked on your LinkedIn account.

If you prefer a hands-off experience, you can switch to automatic mode and allow your marketing admin to engage on your behalf. This is especially useful during active campaigns or when you want to simplify your participation in employee advocacy efforts.

You can make this change directly from Microsoft Teams or Slack.

Steps on Microsoft Teams

  1. Open Microsoft Teams
  2. Click the three dots in the sidebar to “view more apps”, then open SocialWeaver. Alternatively, from the Chats tab, open the SocialWeaver chat
  3. In the SocialWeaver chat window, click View prompts in the bottom-right corner then click Preferences or type it directly into the message box and hit Send
Click View prompts to get to Preferences or directly type into the message box then hit Send.
  1. In the Preferences dialog, click the Preferences button to open your engagement settings in the SocialWeaver web app
  2. Under content approval method, select Automatically
  3. Choose the permissions you'd like to grant your marketing admin. For example, check “Like” to allow them to like content on your behalf
  4. Click Save
Update your SocialWeaver content engagement method to Automatic with Like permission.

What happens after switching to automatic

Once you enable automatic mode:

  • You will no longer receive notifications for content approval
  • Your marketing admin will engage with content (like or share) based on the permissions you granted
  • You remain in control and can adjust your preferences at any time

To switch back to manual mode, simply follow the same steps and choose Manually instead.
